tribe of puffy people
The apprentices found a small tribe of marshmallow people in the national forest. We are studying them and trying to understand their behavior. We think it may have something to do with cold-weather survival.
They routinely wear only 2 layers or fabric in sub-freezing temperatures. They then periodically stuff their clothing with leaves, both wet and dry, although they seem to prefer dry.
Look how happy they are!
Their behavior is very unpredictable.
I think this must have been their chief.

warming up
Rock-boiling water for tea.
Notice the newly wet leaves steaming from our clothes by the fire.
Okay. We stuffed ourselves with leaves, ran around and played stickball, and then dumped 5 gallons of cold creek water over each other. But we were smiling and well afterward (although somehow I only got serious-faced pictures).
Anyone want to add some thoughts? Especially after seeing the pictures?
