Wilderness skills schools? Empty Wilderness skills schools?

Post by Bex 2.0 Wed Feb 27, 2008 3:53 am

Hey all,

I'm working on a magazine article about survival schools across the country (not sure where it will appear just yet -- could be Backpacker, could be Wired, etc.). I'm looking for at least 5 really good, well-known schools that have a solid reputation, that you would recommend to a friend who wanted to go away for a weekend or a week. BOSS in Utah is on the list, as are Tracker School in Jersey and Teaching Drum in Wisconsin. Any other ideas? Maybe something in the southeast or southwest? Vermont? Alaska?

Thanks in advance!
